2nd teachPra

I taught my second class on Wednesday 30th , this time I just had practice with the students; they are still working with modal so to start the class I divided the students into four groups, and gave each group an envelope containing some sentences, so they had to put the words in order. They did it very fast and then read the sentences out loud. To move on, I had some flashcards and gave one to each student, I asked them to come up with a sentence using the picture they had gotten and using modal verbs as well. Then, I had each student telling the sentence they had created. In the next activity; students worked with a photocopy, they had to fill in the blanks with the correct modal verb. We shared that as whole class.

In the end, I asked students to work in groups of four, and I told them; they were going to prepare a role play, I wrote some ideas on the board and they also had some ideas on their handouts about some situations. I helped them as necessary and after some minutes, they had to come to the front and performed it. I raffled the order so that nobody was complaining. They all participated and we had fun seeing their performance.

  1. hello Mary!! well, I see that it was a very complete class. You varied a lot and your class seemed to be interesting and thought-provoking. You did good use of the flashcards; I really like the activity of the situations. In that way, students are able to come up with advices or suggestions. Something which really works to practice modasl is "Talk shows". It was nicely done Mary. I hope you have enjoyed the class as well as your students. Blessings!!
